Kickball Rules

  1. 9 inning or 55 min games
    1. Extra innings
      1. No additional runner in the 10th
      2. Runner on 1st in 11th
      3. Runners on 1st & 2nd in the 12th
      4. Bases loaded in the 13th
  2. 10 man max roster
    1. Ages 13+
    2. No more than 2 under 18 year olds per team​
  3. Players
    1. Minimum of 3 players/game
      1. ​Teams may pick up 1 player per game from another team, if they have less than 4 players
      2. This player may only play the field and run the bases
    2. 3 fielders and a pitcher - one fielder may play as a catcher
    3. Team may bat their entire roster
  4. Home Runs
    1. 3 home runs per regulation game, per team
    2. In the event of extra innings, each team will be awarded 1 additional home run. Unused home runs from regulation will carry over.
  5. Outs & Dead Balls
    1. ​Rubber / Mound Ball
      1. ​​​​​Fielder must be on the rubber before the base runner
      2. Lead runner that has not advanced to the next base is out
      3. Ball is dead and players that are safe may not continue to advance 
      4. Double play 
        1. A player may tag a base for the first out and throw to the rubber. If the ball beats the next lead runner to the base, they are out.
        2. A double play can not occur if the first out is via the rubber
        3. A double play can not occur if the first out is a plug/tag
      5. A player may catch a ball (line drive or pop up) and throw to the rubber. If the ball beats the runner returning to their base, they are out.

  1. Plugs/Tags
    1. If a fielder tags or plugs a runner with the ball, they are out.
    2. On a plug: if the ball bounces on the throw and hits a runner while the runner is not on a base, the runner is out
    3. Ball is dead after a plug/tag (regardless if the plug/tag results in an out or not)
    4. No plugs to head while the runner is upright. Runner will be deemed safe.  ​Plugs to the head on a slide will result in an out.
  2. In Field Fly
    1. In field fly rule can be called by batting team
    2. Ball is deemed dead and no runners can advance
  3. Exhausted Home Runs
    1. The batting team will receive an out for each home run they kick after they have exhausted their allotted home runs for the game
    2. If a fielding team hits a kicked ball over the way after the batting team has exhausted their home runs, the kick will be considered a double
  4. Dead Ball
    1. Once a player is in possession of the ball on the mound (entire dirt area) the ball is deemed dead and runners may not advance
    2. Runners that have made it beyond the halfway point will be awarded the base 
  1. Batting
    1. Batter may not be passed the plate to kick
      1. Each instance is a strike.  
      2. If it occurs on strike three, it is an out.
    2. Ball must pass the painted arch to be considered fair. 
      1. If it doesn't it is considered a foul ball. 
      2. ​If this occurs as the fourth foul, the player is out.
  2. Playoff Eligibility - 1 game must be played for playoff eligibility 
  3. 20 Run Mercy Rule comes into effect after the 2nd inning
  4. Any ruling not covered above will follow baseball rules as close as possible and be made at council's discretion
