Diamond City Kickball League

Kickball Rules
1. 9 inning- or 55 minute-games
2. Extra innings
A. No additional runner in the 10th
B. Runner on 1st in 11th
C. Runners on 1st & 2nd in the 12th
D. Bases loaded in the 13th
3. 10 man max roster
A. Ages 13+
B. No more than 2 under 18 year olds per team
4. Players
A. Minimum of 3 players/game
B. Teams may pick up 1 player from another team (who can play the field and run bases) if they have less than 4 players.
C. 3 fielders and a pitcher - one fielder may play as a catcher
D. Team may bat their entire roster
5. Batting
A. Batter may not be passed the plate to kick
I. Each instance is a strike
II. If it occurs on strike three, it is an out
B. Ball must pass the painted arch to be considered fair
I. If it doesn't it is considered a foul ball
II. If this occurs as the fourth foul, the player is out
6. Home Runs
A. 3 home runs per regulation game, per team
B. In the event of extra innings, each team will be awarded 1 additional home run
C. Unused home runs from regulation will carry over
D. Exhausted home runs
I. The batting team will receive an out for each home run they kick after they have used their allotted home runs for the game
II. If a fielding team hits a kicked ball over the fence after the batting team has used their home runs, the kick will be a double
7. Outs & Dead Balls
A. Rubber / Mound Ball
I. Fielder must be on the rubber before the base runner
II. Lead runner that has not advanced to the next base is out
III. Ball is dead and players that are safe may not continue to advance
IV. Runners that have made it beyond the halfway point will be awarded the pursuing base
B. Double play
I. A player may tag a base for the first out and throw to the rubber. If the ball beats the lead runner to the base, they are out.
II. A double play can not occur if the first out is via the rubber
III. A double play can not occur if the first out is a plug/tag
IV. A player may catch an airborne kicked ball and throw to the rubber. If it beats the runner returning to base, they are out.
C. Plugs/Tags
I. If a fielder tags or plugs a runner with the ball, they are out
II. On a plug, if the ball bounces on the throw and hits a runner while the runner is not on a base, the runner is out
III. Ball is dead after a plug/tag (regardless if the plug/tag results in an out or not)
IV. No plugs to head while the runner is upright. Runner will be deemed safe.
V. Plugs to the head on a slide will result in an out
8. Infield Fly
A. In field fly rule can be called by batting team
B. Ball is deemed dead and no runners can advance
9. Players become playoff eligible after playing one regular season game
10. 20-Run Mercy Rule comes into effect after the second inning
Any ruling not covered above will follow baseball rules as close as possible and will be made at council's discretion.
